- Bottle with 10,000 adults
Aphytis melinus is an ectoparasitoid of various diaspididae scale insects, particularly Aonidiella aurantii (the California red scale) and Aspidiotus nerii (the oleander scale).
RECOMMENDED DOSE
In general, a rate of around 5 to 6 containers per hectare (50,000 to 60,000 individuals) is recommended, maintaining this density with releases every two weeks.
The recommended dose of Aphytis melinus will vary depending on the pest pressure in the crop. Please consult an Agrobío technician for the appropriate dose.
RECOMMENDED CROPS
Recommended mainly for citrus crops. It can also be used in other crops where diaspidid scales are present.
USE
Distribute the Aphytis individuals evenly throughout different points in the crop, using the paper strips provided in the container. Place them on the branches as well as on different parts of the bottle itself.
Perform the release preferably early in the morning or at sunset.
The most suitable months for using APHYTIScontrol are from April to October, although this may vary depending on weather conditions, the crop, the pest pressure, the regions, etc.
CONSERVATION
Keep the bottle in a horizontal position at a temperature of 15–18 °C and do not break the cold chain during transport and storage. Store for a maximum of 48 hours after reception, avoid exposure to direct sunlight and keep away from pesticide residues.
