Aphidius ervi is a parasitic wasp of the aphid species Macrosiphum euphorbie and Aulacorthum solani. Once the wasp finds the prey, lays an egg inside it. The larva eats the aphid from inside, four days later the mummy is formed and a new adult of A. ervi comes out from the dead aphid. This adult can parasitize 300 aphids more.
Release 1-2 ind/m2, introducing weekly 0.25 ind/m2. Begin the treatment when the first aphids are found in the crop. Aphidus ervi is effective against big aphids in most of greenhouse crops (pepper, cucumber and aubergine), especially when is used preventively after finding the aphids.
It is used in several horticultural, ornamental and fruit crops.
