PROPYLEAcontrol

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT
- Bottle with 100 adults
- Bottle with 250 adults
Propylea quatuordecimpunctata is a polyphagous predatory coleopteran, although it reaches its highest efficacy when controlling large populations of aphids.
Adults of Propylea show a yellowish (sometimes whitish) coloration with 14 dark, rectangular spots that may be fused, and many different color patterns have been identified.
The larvae have a dark background color with yellowish or light spots and three pairs of legs.
RECOMMENDED DOSE
- As a more preventive strategy, use 250 individuals/ha, distributing the insects throughout the crop.
- As a curative strategy, depending on pest density, 500 to 1,000 individuals/ha should be applied in hot spots and surrounding areas.
The dose may vary depending on the chosen management strategy, the crop, and pest pressure. Consult an Agrobío technician.
RECOMMENDED CROPS
Various horticultural crops such as pepper, eggplant, melon, or cucumber, where the damage threshold caused by aphids does not allow the introduction of other predators. It can also be used in ornamental and fruit crops, as well as in gardens.
USE
Open the bottle in the field and walk through the crop allowing the adults of P. quatuordecimpunctata to exit. The individuals come out very easily once the lid is removed, as they immediately move toward the light.
The better the distribution during release, the greater the dispersion of predators in the field and the faster the pest will be controlled. Introduction should be carried out late in the afternoon or early in the morning.
PRESERVATION
Store the bottle horizontally at 14–16 ºC and keep the cold chain intact throughout transport and storage. Store for a maximum of 48 hours after reception, do not expose to sunlight, and keep away from pesticide residues.
