Agrobío joins the CRE100DO Foundation

Agrobío S.L. has been selected to join the entity that represents the most prominent companies within the Mid‑Sized Company segment (ETI). CRE100DO Foundation promotes the growth of this business group, which continues to position itself as a driver of development and competitiveness.
CRE100DO Foundation, a national benchmark supporting the growth and competitiveness of more than 100 Mid‑Sized Companies, has added new members to its community. Among them is Agrobío, a company specialized in biological pest control and natural pollination.
Agrobío

Founded in 1995 in Almería, Agrobío is a pioneering biofactory in Spain in the production of bumblebee hives for biopollination and beneficial insects for biological pest control. Its work spans horticultural, fruit, and ornamental crops, as well as parks, gardens, and forestry. Over the years, the company has developed advanced technology and high‑quality processes that have enabled its expansion into more than 45 international markets. In addition, its commitment to innovation includes sustainable strategies that strengthen functional biodiversity and promote more resilient agricultural systems—contributing to food security and natural balance.
According to José Antonio Santorromán, director general de Agrobío, “Joining CRE100DO means becoming part of a community of companies that share the vision of building solid, innovative, and internationally oriented businesses. It is an opportunity to exchange knowledge, create synergies with leading companies, and continue driving the transformation of the agri‑food sector toward a more competitive and responsible future.”
The announcement of Agrobío joining CRE100DO Foundation was made public during the 2025 Annual Event, held last night in the Mutua Madrileña Auditorium in Madrid. Alongside Agrobío, ten other companies from different regions of Spain were also added: Aire Ancient Baths, Auxiliar Conservera, Dreamplace, Grupo Ruiz, iVascular, Sedecal, Fire Piping, RNB, Maheso, and La Paloma Cerámicas.
CRE100DO Foundation report: a snapshot of Spain’s middle market
During the event, Fundación CRE100DO presented the latest data from the Spanish middle market, based on its most recent report. The analysis shows that the number of mid‑sized companies has grown 21% in the last four years, with an absolute increase of 700 companies, reaching a total of 4,000.
Furthermore, 70% of this growth comes from companies whose decision‑making remains in Spain. In other words, they are not direct or indirect subsidiaries of foreign multinationals, nor are they majority‑owned by foreign capital. The study highlights this segment for its high productivity, three times the national average, and its strong commitment to innovation, reinforcing its role as a driver of economic transformation. In addition, mid‑sized companies generate stable employment and local development, often in areas outside major urban centers.
The event, held at the Mutua Madrileña Auditorium in Madrid, aimed to emphasize the strategic importance of these companies, which act as catalysts for change. Their ongoing growth positions them as key players in national economic development.
