TRICHOcontrol Dispensing balls featured at II Expo Cherry 2026

On March 11 and 12, Agrobío took part in the II EXPO CHERRY 2026 in Albuñol (Granada), held at the La Rábita Municipal Pavilion. Over two full days, the local technical and commercial team welcomed growers, technicians and companies interested in the latest solutions in biological control and natural pollination.

At this year’s event, Agrobío focused on tomato crops, one of the most important productions along the Granada coast and in south-eastern Spain. Among the solutions presented, TRICHOcontrol Dispensing Balls stood out. This system facilitates the emergence and efficient release of Trichogramma achaeae for the biological control of Tuta absoluta eggs.

Visitors also had the opportunity to learn more about the advantages of Agrobío’s Turbo bumblebee hives, designed to ensure effective pollination during the summer. In addition, the team presented other beneficial insect solutions that can be applied not only in tomato but also in crops commonly grown in the area, such as Padrón peppers and green beans.

During the II EXPO CHERRY 2026 fair, the team shared field experiences with attendees. As one of Agrobío’s technicians explained during the event: “More and more growers are looking for effective, residue-free pest control strategies to improve crop quality”.

Discussing challenges and how to address them

Agrobio team discussed recent advances in biological control

On March 12 at 12:30 p.m., Rocío Correa, Agrobío specialist, gave a technical talk as part of the event program. During the presentation, she discussed recent advances in biological control applied to integrated tomato pest management, with special focus on strategies to break pest life cycles.

The fair also attracted several media outlets interested in learning about the latest innovations in biocontrol developed by the company.

Agrobío’s participation in the II EXPO CHERRY 2026 comes at a special time for the company. In 2025–2026, Agrobío celebrates 30 years working alongside growers, promoting innovation in biological control from south-eastern Spain, one of Europe’s most dynamic agricultural regions.
